
Not too appetizing huh? Luckily I had some help. My son Simeon had never had these delectables so he was eagerly participating in the process.

Here they are squeaky clean after a thorough bath.

My favorite way of preparing them is to dip them in whipped egg, then into cracker crumbs and them finally into a hot pan with olive oil in it.


I must say, I love cooking in cast iron. It browns so evenly and nicely.


Here is the finished product in all its' glory. It was definitely the star component to our dinner that evening. Everything else paled in comparison.

So beautiful in that last photo that I wish I could just reach right in and help myself! This is nothing short of just plain fantastic, and will try the egg/cracker crumbs/cast iron griddle the next chance I pick up some supermarket shrooms. Buon appetito!
