I'd been in a funk for days. This winter started out with a bang early on and we'd been getting snow, upon snow, upon snow. True, it hadn't been piling up because it would snow, then melt, and repeat. I would guess that I was in the early stages of cabin fever.
My Rotttie Drago, had been pestering me that morning for a "walk". He knows just how to get my attention. He stand right in front of me and stares, and I mean STARES at you until you acknowledge him and figure out what he wants. When he knows he has your attention then he runs to the door. Now, if this is a normal potty request, he runs out the door as soon as you open it, but when he wants you to come with him as soon as you close the door he scratches at the door. Okay....so then you open the door and he stares at you and doesn't come in. All right, all right, let me get my coat.
So off we went. He's happy as a clam. I'm grumbling cos' it's cold and windy and snowy outside. Off he runs as he catches sight of a jack rabbit. This happens countless times every time we go for a walk. It must be like the arcades for him. I hear him barking in the distance. He's staring at me again as I trudge toward him, almost as if to say "would you please hurry it up"!

He hasn't run off yet as I move toward him. When I arrive I see this.

He's found someone's home! Looks like a badger hole and one that has been recently used.

Okay Drago. Good boy! You found something interesting. Now let's leave it alone because I don't think you would really like to meet the occupant. They are notoriously grumpy and formidable. Maybe we can find a fuzzy bunny for you to chase! (He never catches them. Jack Rabbits are extremely fast and make such quick turns that he can never turn that fast and loses them. But it's fun trying!)

By that time, my mood had changed. It wasn't so bad out there. I had bundled up and wasn't feeling miserable and it was really quite beautiful in that snowy quiet world. Thank you Drago! You knew just what I needed!
I leave you all with a photo I took the following morning. If I don't post again before Christmas I wish you all a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends.

Good boy Drago!
